How does Renuvion® work?

Renuvion® utilises ground-breaking radio-frequency energy to deliver a ‘J-Plasma’ tissue contracting treatment. The Renuvion® device is a wand-shape for maximum precision and uses pressurised helium to deliver and drive precise and measured radio-frequency energy just underneath the skin. It then heats the treatment area and forces the cells and tissues to contract. The heat is cooled within a fraction of a second, making it a very safe treatment as it does not damage the upper layers of the skin. As Renuvion® creates plasma energy with helium, heating and cooling the skin, within fractions of a second it can deliver results with a far more focused heat than alternative skin tightening treatments.

The precision of the Renuvion® device wand, the ultra-controlled heat and the fact that Renuvion® doesn’t require large incisions, this can all help to reduce the risk of this treatment, shortening recovery times and minimising scarring. Furthermore, research suggests that radio-frequency energy, such as that used in Renuvion® is able to deliver very similar results as with invasive surgery, but with far less risk.

The Advantages of Renuvion

Less Invasive

The use of Renuvion does not require skin excision, and therefore is considered a minimally invasive procedure. The device is inserted under the skin through small entry points, which reduces post-operative discomfort and scarring.

Less Downtime

The procedure is minimally invasive with no surgical removal of tissue.9,10,12 With the use of small entry points and minimal disruption of the tissue, patients experience less pain, discomfort, and downtime with Renuvion compared to more invasive procedures such as an abdominoplasty, brachioplasty or other procedures where large skin excisions are made.10,12 Additionally, studies have shown reduced pain and downtime after the use of Renuvion versus an alternative minimally invasive RF technology.

Lasting Results

We know the aging process can’t be stopped, but through the use of energy devices, like Renuvion, we know it is possible to contract soft tissues and start the collagen rebuilding process known as neocollagensis. This process takes 6-9 months which is why effects will improve over time. Renuvion is one of the latest game-changing technologies13 with early data showing results lasting up to 2.5 years.

For which areas can I have a Renuvion® treatment?

Renuvion® is a perfect option for the following areas:

  • The lower face and neck
  • Abdomen
  • Hips
  • Flanks
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
  • Back

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I suitable for Renuvion® tissue contracting?

As with all procedures of this kind, results can vary from patient to patient. Typically, Renuvion® is an effective option for those with mild to moderate skin excess and for those who do not want large and visible incisions, heavy scarring or extended downtime. However, before we can approve you for a Renuvion® treatment, we will ask that you attend a no-obligation consultation with Mr Netri, so that he can assess your bodily concerns, examine you and check your medical history, to ensure that Renuvion® will not only be a successful option for you, but will be safe for you to undergo.

How many Renuvion® treatments will I need?

You will only require one Renuvion® treatment. However, the procedure will deliver progressive results that you may continue to see gradually, for up to a year after your treatment. This is because the skin tissues can remodel and deposit new collagen in the treated area over time, helping to keep the skin firm and taut.

Will I need a local or general anaesthetic for my Renuvion® treatment at Netri Cosmetic Surgery?

Depending on what Mr Netri decides for your individual requirements, you may be offered a local or general anaesthetic for your Renuvion® treatment. Renuvion® can be used in conjunction with surgical procedures such as liposuction and is renowned for its short procedure times thanks to its highly effective, incredibly precise wand. While you may experience mild discomfort during the procedure if you have a local anaesthetic, usually this is minimised. We can also offer sedative medication to make the treatment more comfortable if you are having a local anaesthetic, here at Netri Cosmetic Surgery, should you require it.
